Day 01 : Delhi / Cochin (Flight)

Morning transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cochin.

Upon arrival at Cochin airport, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, visit a traditional Kathakali Dance Show. Kathakali is one of the most famous dance forms in Kerala, drawing its themes from the rich wealth of Indian mythology and folklore. Facial expressions and eye movements hold the key to its perfection. Unique among Indian classical dances, Kathakali ranks remarkably high and is perhaps the only dance form in India where the powerful, masculine aspect of the art is preserved in its elemental purity. It is highly noted for its archaic costumes, detailed makeup, grand headgear, and elaborately painted faces that are often mistaken for masks.

Day 02 : Cochin / Munnar (130 Kms / 03 Hrs)

In the morning, visit Fort Cochin, Santa Cruz Basilica, St. Francis Church, and the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Later, drive to Munnar.

Your eyes will have little time to rest while in Munnar; everywhere you look, there is another natural wonder to behold. The luscious green foliage of the dense mountains provides the perfect backdrop for the endless sights in the area. Waterfalls, local plantations, and classic European architecture provide a textured sightseeing wonderland like few others. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.

Day 03 : Munnar

Today, your Kerala tour itinerary is entirely devoted to sightseeing in and around Munnar. Enjoy panoramic views of Anamudi, the highest peak in South India standing at 2,695 meters, which is clearly visible from Munnar. Visit the historic Christ Church and proceed for wildlife watching at Eravikulam National Park (16 km away). Afterward, visit Mattupetty Dam, a famous picnic spot offering boating and horse riding, en route to Top Station.

Day 04 : Munnar / Periyar (Thekkady) (160 Kms / 04 Hrs)

In the morning, drive to Periyar. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the picturesque locales of the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala. Periyar Lake, an artificial lake formed by the construction of a dam in 1895 AD, adds to the beauty of the park and serves as a permanent source of water for the wildlife. Here, the high ranges of the Western Ghats are clothed in dense evergreen forests, moist deciduous forests, and savanna grasslands. Below this thick green canopy roam herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion-tailed macaques, and Nilgiri langurs. In the evening, enjoy a scenic boat ride on Lake Periyar. This is the most enjoyable way to observe the wildlife around the lake; from the safety of the boat, you can witness herds of wild elephants coming down to the water to drink and swim.

Day 05 : Periyar / Kumarakom

In the morning, enjoy a Spice Plantation Tour. The spice plantations in Thekkady are a prime attraction of this beautiful region. While sprawling tea estates cover much of the landscape, plantations of cardamom, rubber, vanilla, and coffee are also aplenty. A vast variety of spices are cultivated here; the most abundantly found spice is black pepper, but you will also find cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, turmeric, and curry leaves growing on the slanting slopes.

Later, drive to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the tranquil backwaters. Kumarakom is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is a renowned haven visited by many species of migratory birds. Vembanad Lake, the largest backwater in Kerala, is a habitat for many marine and freshwater fish species and teems with Karimeen (Pearl Spot), shrimp, and prawns.

Day 06 : Kumarakom / Alleppey (Houseboat)

A houseboat is the ultimate medium to explore the mesmerizing scenic beauty of the backwaters, offering a true treat for the eyes. Slowly floating over the waters, the houseboat takes you into a world of wonder, passing by scintillating natural beauty, quaint churches, and emerald-green paddy fields—sights you will hardly ever forget.
